Our Program
The Generation Next Humanitarian Fellowship Program is an initiative that aims to increase the diversity of professionals in the humanitarian sector by building a pathway for seniors and recent graduates of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, Asian American and Pacific Islander Institutions and Tribal Colleges and Universities.
By creating new pathways into the sector and providing guided professional development opportunities and mentorship, the Generation Next Humanitarian Fellowship Program will ultimately contribute to a humanitarian workforce that reflects the rich diversity of the U.S. population, and is equipped to equitably and effectively respond to humanitarian needs around the world.
David Hausner, PhD, MPH, MIA
Program Director
Dr. David Hausner has extensive experience in global health, senior project management and HIV prevention and care. He managed global health projects for more than 20 years in India, Central Asia and Cambodia and conducted trainings, evaluations and strategic planning in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Dr. Hausner earned his Master’s in Public Health (MPH) and his Master’s in International Affairs (MIA) from Columbia University and his PhD in International Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.
Jennifer Dogbey, MBA
Deputy Program Director
Jennifer Dogbey has 15 years of international recruitment experience specializing in the global health and international development professions. She has worked on fellowship programs for the past 10 years starting with the Global Health Fellows Program II and then the STAR project where she piloted masked recruitment policies, guiding USAID hiring practices to increase the hiring of diverse professionals. Jennifer received her MBA from Morgan State University, Maryland and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lincoln University, Pennsylvania.
